Ahead of the Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Barcelona tomorrow, September 13, 2022, Bayern Munich manager, Julian Nagelsmann said the former Bayern player Lewandowski would be warmly welcomed at Allianz Arena.

In Contrast to what other people speculate, Nagelsmann believes that Robert Lewandowski will be welcomed back by Bayern and the club’s supporters to the Allianz Arena with open arms on Tuesday.

Nagelsmann said: “I think there’ll be applause. I think it’s never good when someone is booed. I don’t know the whole truth, and the fans even less. There’s always a second truth, things are exaggerated and mistranslated. That’s football.”

Lewandowski joined Barcelona this summer after the Catalans agreed on a deal with Bayern to sign the legend on a four-year contract for a transfer fee worth €45 million.

Before his exit from Bayern Munich, Robert Lewandowski had just one year remaining on his contract and had told the German champions that he would not sign a new deal with them.

Moreover, the Polish superstar later admitted that his departure from Bayern Munich was due to political display by the club and claimed that the Bundesliga Champions attempted to cook up an excuse to sell him this summer and bring in Erling Haaland as a replacement.

Meanwhile, the German Giants had publicly denied Lewandowski’s claim and asserted that they did not have any interest in Haaland who had since joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

Afterward, Bayern Munich sporting director, Hasan Salihamidzic opened up that the Bundesliga champions indeed attempted to beat Manchester City in the bid for Erling Haaland.

Hasan said: “We were in talks [for Haaland], but it became clear that things might not work out that way for both sides. That’s why he’s at Manchester City now and that’s why we have other players.”

Robert Lewandowski has been thriving wonderfully in his present club. He scored his first-ever goal for Barcelona in a 6–0 victory against Mexican club UNAM in the Joan Gamper Trophy pre-season match that was held at Camp Nou on the 7th of August, 2022.

The Polish superstar has been trending for his hat tricks in Barcelona. One of his superb hat tricks came in a 5–1 victory over FC Viktoria Plzeň, becoming the first player in history to score a Champions League hat trick for three different clubs.

So far at FC Barcelona, Lewandowski has scored nine goals and provided two assists in just 6 games in all competitions. He is expected to continue with his superb goalscoring form against his former club, Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Indeed, Robert Lewandowski’s return to the Allianz stadium where he achieved the greatest years of his football career will be something that fans will eagerly await to watch.

As football fans await the UEFA Champions League match between the two legendary clubs, the question is, would the Polish football legend make a triumphant return or would Barcelona get shoved by Bayern as in the 2020-2021 season in which Bayern defeated Barca 8-2 on aggregate?

The Champions League group stage game will kick off at the Allianz Arena at 20:00 on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.
