The player also went ahead to write his nickname and his signature on the wall.

Manchester City’s decision to add more money to his salary is a move to send away potential suitors for the player in the hope of tying him down for a long time.

Alvarez’s initial contract ends in 2027, but because of his impressive performance this season, the club gave him an extra 12-month extension.

The 23-year-old Argentine striker joined Manchester City from River Plate in January 2022.

He was linked to Manchester United last season under interim manager Ralf Rangnick’s recommendation, but the club failed to spend in the January transfer window, stating that they are only interested in spending when the new manager comes in.

Pep Guardiola failed to send the player back on loan to his former club due to the potential he possesses.

The Spanish manager sees him as someone with Sergio Aguero’s ability. In his debut season, the striker scored ten goals in 33 appearances.

Also, he was a top player in the World Cup for Argentina in Qatar, scoring four goals.
Alvarez has shown that young players can deliver for big Premier League clubs.

He remains a source of inspiration to the other Manchester City players who are still hoping to break into Guardiola’s first team.

To win the World Cup at his age is exceptional and encouraging. Alvarez is more likely to become a world-class striker and a record breaker if he stays longer at the club.

The 23-year-old Argentine player still has to do more to get enough playing time next season.

Alvarez was also grateful for the contribution of the manager and other staff who have been working behind the scenes to make sure the club wins trophies.

Julian Alvarez’s Achievements As A Player

In 2022, he won the Argentina Player of the Season and also the World Cup. Alvarez won the Copa America in 2020/21 with his national team. In River Plate, he won Copa Libertadories in 2017–18.

The player won the Conmebol with Argentina when the club defeated Italy in the 2021/22 season.
