Referee Felix Zwayer who German FA banned from officiating for six months in 2005 because he was found guilty of match-fixing officiated the game.

Unfortunately for Borussia Dortmund, the referee denied them a penalty and granted Bayern a spot-kick after Dortmund’s Mats Hummels committed a handball offense in the penalty box.

Bayern’s Robert Lewandowski stepped up and scored the goal that ended up being the winning goal. After the 3-2 victory over Dortmund, Jude Bellingham told ViaPlay that: German FA gave “a referee, that has match fixed before, the biggest game in Germany.”

The comment infuriated the German FA and decided to start a process to prosecute the 18-year-old English central midfielder.
