Turkey Super Lig side Fenerbache have entered the race to sign red-hot Manchester United winger Mason Greenwood.
The Super Lig side recently appointed Jose Mourinho as the club’s manager months after the latter lost his job at Roma.
The former Chelsea, Tottenham, Man United, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan manager is said to be the brain behind Fenerbache’s move for Mason Greenwood, having worked with the player when he was at Manchester United manager.
It is not the first time Mourinho has been linked to Mason Greenwood. While at Roma, he made the list of managers who wanted the player.
Now in charge of Fenerbache, the Portuguese is hopeful of securing the services of the English forward.
Greenwood has a year left on his Manchester United contract. After the player’s 18-month exile due to assault charges, which he was later cleared by the club, the 22-year-old made a roaring return to action.
He was loaned out to Getafe in LaLiga for six months, where he starred with a career-best tally of 14 goal contributions to win Getafe Player of the Season
Following his impressive loan shit with the Azulones, the Man United winger has been on the radar of top clubs in Europe with Fenerbache the latest suitors joining the queue for his services.
Futballnews understands Manchester United are ready to part ways with Greenwood but at the right offer.
While Mourinho’s influence could have put Fenerbache in a vantage position to seal a deal for Mason Greenwood, sources close to the player revealed he is not interested in working with the Portuguese despite the latter discovering him back in 2018 and helping him break into Manchester United’s first team.
We reported earlier that Greenwood, who has put up his Cheshire home for sale, has given the green light to a possible move to Juventus.
