Jose Mourinho celebrated the birthday of his son Zuca with his usual birthday ritual on his social media handle.
Zuca, son of the renowned football manager turned 23 on February 2, 2023, and Mourinho did not spare the hints as he zoomed in a throwback of a lovely moment with the former Fulham academy player.
After emerging into the limelights in his managerial career in Europe, Jose Mourinho has maintained a tradition of wishing Zuca a happy birthday with throwback shots.
In 2018, Mourinho wished Zuca a happy 18th birthday by posting a throwback picture of the pair together on a jet ski.
At that time, he was at Manchester United. He followed up the image with a caption which reads; ”Happy birthday zuca now you are 18 you don’t need me to go on the jet ski with you anymore.’
In the jet ski throwback, the Portuguese tactician could be seen controlling the Jet ski while little Zuca was tucked closed to his belly.
In 2017, Mourinho posted another 17th birthday wish for Zuca with a throwback pic showing him trying to tie the laces of Zuca’s shoe. He added a caption which reads:
‘You are still my little boy….but i don’t have to tie your shoelaces anymore.’
This year, Mourinho is not going with wordy captions like previous years, but has not failed to drop his regular throwback.
The Roma manager posted a throwback pic of him and young Zuca smiling, before dropping a shot of the grown up Zuca in the next slide.
He wrote, “Happy Birthday, my man.”
In the eye of the media, Jose Mourinho is a hardline football manager who volumes out his grievances irrespective of whose ox is gored. The Portuguese tactician has no scruples launching tirades at fellow managers in naked tones.
He once referred to former Arsenal manager and Premier League legend Arsene Wenger as ”a specialist in failure” and teased himself for being “the special one.”
However, beneath his cheeky and controversial media parlance, Jose Mourinho is such a soft man at heart and has demonstrated it with an endless birthday ritual for his lovely son, Zuca.
Who is Zuca
Zuca’s real name is Jose Mario Mourinho Jr, the son of renowned football manager, popularly known as, ‘the special one.’
Zuca has a very close relationship with his father, Mourinho. Jose Mourinho has made it a duty to always celebrates Zuca’s Birthday with a special post which features throwback of him with the 23-year-old.
This shows the deep and unbreakable bond of love that exist between them. When Jose Mourinho was a manager at Real Madrid and Chelsea, Zuca is said to have been afforded the opportunity to test his football skills in the youth teams of both clubs.
Zuca was on the touchline when Jose Mourinho led Manchester United to Europa League victory over Ajax in 2017. He celebrated the victory with his father jumping into the pitch and giving the former Real Madrid manager a warm and hearty embrace.
Unlike his dad, who has shot himself into fame in football management in Europe, it appears Zuca is not having a great football career.
At 16, he reportedly signed a two-year academy deal with Fulham, but had the contract terminated by mutual consent after just a year into the deal. Since then, his football destination is unknown.
