The manager of Tottenham Hotspur, Jose Mourinho has urged his club’s talisman Harry Kane to fight for trophies instead of waiting to win one. The London club is yet to win any major title for the past 13 years which means that Kane is yet to win any title in his football career.

Harry Kane is a product of the Tottenham Hotspur youth system. Since he was promoted to the club’s senior team on January 1, 2011, he has been with the club except for moments the club sent him out on loan.

The last club he played for on loan was Leicester City in 2013. Ever since then, Kane has remained a major football star at Tottenham. He has scored a whopping 208 goals and provided 44 assists in 317 games in all competitions for Spurs.

In the 2015-2016 season, he won the golden boot award after scoring 25 goals. In the 2016-2017 season, the England international achieved the same feat after scoring 29 goals. In the 2018-2019 season, Kane scored 12 goals in Europa League qualifiers.

Despite all these goals, Harry Kane is yet to win any title for Tottenham which has always tempted his fans to urge him to leave the London club for a club that can help him win titles. However, Kane remained at Tottenham despite a series of speculations linking him with a move to some top clubs in Europe.

He has once said that he is ready to remain at Tottenham Hotspur until the end of his football career as far as he could see a form of progression at the club.

Hence, when Tottenham decided to appoint Jose Mourinho as the coach of the club, the English striker decided to stay because it is believed that Mourinho always wins at least a title in any club he coaches.

The Portuguese tactician has started showing signs that he can help Tottenham to end their 13 years wait for a major title. He has already led the club to the Carabao Cup final. Unfortunately for Tottenham, they will have to play against in-form Manchester City to win the title.

Besides that, Jose Mourinho still has a chance to win the Europa League, and the FA Cup for Tottenham Hotspur this season. The club will play against Everton in the 5th round of the FA Cup today, February 10, at 21:15.

Mourinho who will certainly make Harry Kane lead the attack against Everton, wants the striker to continue to fight until he wins a title for himself and Tottenham.

“To win a trophy, he just needs to win one game. I know that it is a big, difficult game”, Mourinho said.

“I know that it is against probably the team that is going to win the Premier League this year, so I think it is a very difficult final that we will have to play.

“But to win a trophy, we just need to win a match. You have to ask Harry, but I think ‘to wait’ is not the right way to describe it. Is to fight for it, is to fight for it.

“But it’s something very personal that I think he is the right guy to have a conversation with you about it.”

So far this season, Harry Kane has scored 11 league goals and provided 13 assists in 20 league matches. He has scored a total of 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 30 games in all competitions.
