Wolves striker, Raul Jimenez stormed the team’s training ground on Wednesday to greet his team-mates for the first time since leaving the hospital after surgery.

The Mexican was involved in a head collision with Arsenal defender, David Luiz during the Premier League clash between both teams two weeks ago at the Emirate Stadium. Jimenez was defending an Arsenal corner before clattering his head into Luiz, leaving both of them to need medical attention.

Jimenez suffered the brunt of the injury as he was stretched off the field straight to the hospital for examination. It later revealed that he had to go under the knife after sustaining a skull fracture.

Since then David Luiz, who continued the game had later substituted at half time has not played for the Gunners.

In a time like this, the only thing a player needs to achieve rapid recovery is support. It appears the 29-year-old Mexican is not lacking that as well.

Apart from home support from his girlfriend and daughter, Wolves players wore T-shirts with messages of support for Jimenez prior to Sunday’s match against Liverpool.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men subsequently lost the fixture 4-0. On his arrival at the training ground, Jimenez greeted his manager and team-mates at Compton Park as they prepare to face Aston Villa at Molineux on Saturday.

Before his release from the hospital, where he was later given all-clear to go home, Wolves supporters raised £7,500 in two hours for a giant flag for the Mexican in the Steve Bull Stand at Molineux, while thousands of messages of support for the player have been received by the club.

Jimenez scored 17 goals as Wolves finished seventh in the Premier League last season. He has scored four goals in nine top-flight appearances this term.
