Jean-David Beauguel was the hero of Al-Wehda who knocked Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr out of the Saudi Arabia Kings Cup semi-final on Monday, 24th of April.

Jean-David Beauguel, the outstanding player for Al-Wehda, asked five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo to swap jerseys with him after Al-Nassr’s semifinal loss in the King Cup of Champions. Ronaldo turned down Beauguel’s request.

After launching a free-kick over the crossbar during the game and the game ended with a defeat to his team, Ronaldo was left fuming at his teammates and coaches on the bench.

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid great moved to Saudi Arabia to play for Al-Nassr earlier this year with the aim of winning more titles.

However, this week’s 1-0 semi-final loss to ten-man Al-Wehda dashed his hopes of winning the King Cup of Champions, which was his team’s surest title for this season.

Jean-David Beauguel’s spectacular overhead kick goal in the middle of the first half proved to be the game-winner.

The French forward’s historic encounter with Ronaldo ended in disappointment, though.

Speaking after Al-Wehda’s victory over Cristiano Ronaldo Al-Nassr Jean-David Beauguel said; “I was surprised by his attitude, I was disappointed”.

The 31-year-old forward added; “I told him I was his fan and I asked him for shirt and I shook my hand without looking me in the eye and with a very contemptuous air”.

“Even during the match, he was upset and yelled at his teammates”.

“Cristiano is a great competitor and I understand that he was disappointed by the loss”.

Al-Nassr vs Al-Wehda in brief;
In the opening minutes, Cristiano Ronaldo had the first shot on goal, but he missed the goal with his left foot.

When he (Ronaldo) still didn’t score, he got angry and blasted a golden opportunity from six yards out right at Al-Wehda’s impressive goalkeeper Munir Mohamedi.

Beauguel scored the opening goal for the visitors following a defensive blunder, but Ronaldo quickly attempted to regain control of the game.

At halftime, with the home team down and Ronaldo frustrated, the Portuguese forward appeared to lose his cool with his teammates.

It was obvious that Ronaldo was upset about something as he moved toward his own bench and shook his head as the teams walked off the field at halftime.
