    James Rodriguez has parted ways with Olympiacos after the club terminated his contract after eight months spell.

    The 2014 World Cup star joined Olympiacos at the beginning of the 2022/23 season and went on to make 23 appearances for the Greek outfit.

    During his eight-month stints at the club, the 31-year-old Columbian scored five goals and provided six assists before his contract got terminated.

    The Greek side took to their social media page on Thursday, April 13, detailing the contract termination of the Columbian playmaker.

    Olympiacos announced the termination on their official Twitter handle with the statement that read: “Olympiacos FC and James Rodriguez have decided to terminate their cooperation.”

    “James will always be part of our club and a member of the “red-and-white” family. We want to thank him for his service and we wish him every success in the future.”

    James Rodriguez also took to his social media account to confirm his contract annulment and paid respects to the Greek side.

    He noted: “I would like to thank everyone for all the time that we have spent together.”

    “Although we are going our separate ways, I feel that I will always be a member and welcomed in the family of the great Port Piraeus. I wish all the best to Olympiacos and every success in the future.”
