Jack Diamond of Sunderland Football Club has been accused of Rape and Sexual assault which have been reported to the police.
Jack, 23, has been suspended by Sunderland after the team was informed of the accusations after an inquiry that started in May 2022.
The player who hails from Tyne and Wear in Washington, has had his loan deal terminated by Lincoln City due to the case.
Northumbria Police stated: “In May last year, we received a report that a woman had been sexually assaulted inside an address in the Washington area.”
“An investigation was immediately launched and a man was subsequently arrested.”
“Jack Diamond, 23, of Fatfield, Washington, has now been charged with one count of rape and one count of sexual assault and is due to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court in May.”
A Sunderland spokesperson also added: “Sunderland AFC has been notified that criminal charges have been brought against Jack Diamond by the Crown Prosecution Service.”
“The player has been suspended with immediate effect, pending the outcome of the judicial process, and his loan agreement at Lincoln City Football Club has also been terminated.”
“As this matter is subject to a legal process, the club will not be making any further statement at this time.”
“Lincoln City said Diamond’s loan deal had been “terminated with immediate effect”.

Jack Tyler Diamond was born 12th January, 2000. He is an English footballer who plays as a winger for EFL Championship club Sunderland.
Jack was born in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear and began his career with Sunderland, joining their academy at the age of just 14.
The English player made his senior professional debut on 9th October 2018, in the EFL Trophy, together with Lee Connelly.
He was signed on loan to Harrogate Town in September 2019. Later that month, the club confirmed that they would love the loan to be extended just to keep the player.
The loan was extend in November 2019 until the end of the season. That same month, the player confirmed that he was looking forward to playing for Harrogate in the FA Cup.
The lad scored his first goal for Sunderland in an EFL Trophy tie against Carlisle United on 6 October 2020.
He returned on loan to Harrogate Town on 31 August 2021. And again, he was recalled by Sunderland on 7 January 2022 after which he returned to Harrogate Town in January on loan for the rest of the season.
In August 2022 the player signed for Lincoln City on loan for the rest of the season. He made his debut for the club against Barnsley in the EFL Trophy on 30 August 2022.
He scored his first goal for Lincoln CIty from a penalty spot against Derby County in a 2-0 win and in the following game against Bristol Rovers he also went on to score his first career hattrick.
This form saw him nominated for the EFL League One Player of the Month for September 2022.
He is one of the latest football player to be accused of rape, though no official report is out there, aside his loan was terminated by Lincoln City and he was suspended by parent club, Sunderland.
