Manchester City were able to save a point on Sunday, August 21, after they fell behind by two goals against Newcastle on August 21 in the Premier League. Manchester City went ahead very early but were shocked by the home team, who played with high intensity and strength.

Newcastle have never defeated Manchester City in their last five outings.

Before the match, a lot of people had written off Newcastle because of the quality of Pep Guardiola’s side. But a 3-3 draw against the champions of England was never expected.

The game deserves to be called the “Match of the Season” because of the overturned red card and dramatic comeback. Everyone on the field performed very well for 90 minutes, and the pace of the match was relentless.

Newcastle’s ability to defeat teams at home was aided by fans singing praises of their players.

Ilkay Gundogan gave the club an early lead, before goals from Miguel Almiron, Callum Wilson, and Kieran Trippier gave Newcastle a 3-1 advantage after 54 minutes.

But Newcastle could have been the first team to defeat Manchester City this season had they not been saved by Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland before the end of the 90th minute.

Kieran Tripper was also shown a red card for his high foot on Kevin De Bryune, which was later changed to a yellow card.

Both teams have not lost this season, with Manchester City second on seven points and Newcastle sixth on five points.

Newcastle are already becoming a top team to play against, for sure, and the Premier League is also difficult for every other club.

Manchester City and Newcastle United’s owners have invested heavily in the teams. The Magpies are still capable of shocking other teams in the Premier League this season with their style of play.

Other games that happened this weekend were not as tough as the Manchester City and Newcastle games. Brighton outsmarted West Ham by defeating them 2-0.

The Leeds vs Chelsea game was just one-sided as the home team outplayed the blues from the beginning of the match till the end as they defeated the former European champions 3-0.

Manchester City will visit Camp Nou on Wednesday for a club friendly before traveling to Ethiad to play against Crystal Palace in the Premier League. The Eagles are another tough team that is hard to break for Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that Nathan Ake suffered a groin injury and will not be available against Barcelona.

Newcastle, on the other hand, will play against Tranmere in the EFL second round before traveling to Wolves for an interesting counter.

Title contenders for the Premier League this season cannot be determined yet, but different teams have shown what they are capable of, while others are already displaying why they could be relegated at the end of this season.
