Interim Ljungberg insists that Liverpool and Manchester City are the king of Premier League right now

Interim Freddie Ljungberg accepts that Liverpool and Manchester City are the best in the Premier League at the moment.

Following the awful 3-0 loss to the City at the Emirates Stadium, makes it a third consecutive home defeat for Arsenal.

The Gunners record only one victory in 12 games across all competitions. With the Swede having overseen the last five matches on an interim basis after Unai Emery’s dismissal.

Meanwhile, the 3-1 win against West Ham last Monday in London Stadium is Arsenal’s only victory since Ljungberg temporarily taking charge.

The second-minute opener from Kevin De Bruyne put the Citizens up before Raheem Sterling had his 15-minute goal. While the Belgium international later folds it up, just five minutes to the end of the first half.

The Belgian midfielder, de Bruyne playing the starring role with two fabulous goals and an assist for Sterling. Having him as the headline of the victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.

According to Ljungberg ”De Bruyne showed his quality. Not many players can score those goals like he did today from small chances. Maybe it shows the difference in the teams. They score from those chances with top, top players.”

He asserts more that ”Liverpool and City are very, very good. There is a gulf in quality between City, Liverpool and the rest. They showed that today.”

The Swede believes that having such top players is the reason, Liverpool and Man City are different from others. ”Liverpool and City are in a league of their own at the moment.” he says.

Consequently, Liverpool and Manchester City have been outstanding since last season when Pep Guardiola got the crown with one-point lead of Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

The rivalry between the pair seems critical now that Klopp is 14 points clear of the Citizens this term. The title race is still actively between these two with Leicester amidst them with only four points of the City.

Well, the Sweden international respects the fans for not giving up on the team even while losing. He also said the Gunners are good enough to compete with the top six.
