Serie A giants Inter Milan have signed Argentina U-20 youth star Tomas Palacios from Argentine club Talleres.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 2023-24 Serie A champions are signing the young center-back for €6.5m. At the time of this report, Tomas Palacios has reportedly landed in Milano for his medical and signing of contract as a new Inter player.
Tomas Palacios had an underwhelming career start with Talleres. He emerged into the spotlight following his standout performance for Argentina U-20. The magical career U-turn saw the footballer attract interest from top clubs in Europe, with Inter Milan finally beating the competition to sign him.
Palacios is Inter’s seventh signing this season joining Mehdi Taremi, Piotr Zielinski, Marko Arnautovic, Carlos Augusto, Josep Martinez, and Davide Frattesi, who have all signed for the club this summer.
Who is Tomas Palacios?
Tomas Palacios is an Argentine youth footballer who played for Talleres in the Argentina Primeira and Argentina U-20 youth teams. Talleres played as a defender and was noticed for his contributions to the Argentina U-20 team.
The young footballer is still in the nascent stages of his career. He only managed four senior club career appearances for Talleres in the Argentina Primeira in 2022. Overall, he has played 14 senior club career matches. Nine of those have been for Independiente Rivadavia, where he was sent on loan by Talleres.
Juventus sign Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez from Porto
Another Serie A giants, Juventus, have secured the services of Spanish midfielder Nico Gonzalez from Portuguese top side Porto.
Fabrizio Romano reports that the young footballer has joined following an agreement on both personal and club terms for the move.
The 2002-born youngster is Juventus’ sixth signing this summer. The Old Ladies, who finished strong last season, added Monza shot-stopper Michele Di Gregorio to their goalkeeping options on loan.
Other new additions to the team this summer include defender Pierre Kalulu from AC Milan, midfielder Juan Cabal from Hellas Verona, Kephrem Thuram from Nice, and Douglaz Luis from Aston Villa.
Who is Nico Gonzalez?
Nicolas Gonzalez Iglesias, popularly known as Nico, is a Spanish footballer. Nico played as a midfielder for Porto in the Portuguese top flight but is now set for a new chapter in Turin with Juventus
He began his career in Spain, where he had youth spells with Montaneros youth from 2009 to 2013. He joined the renowned La Masia Academy in 2013 and graduated to the reserve team in 2019.
After two years with Barcelona B, Nico was promoted to Barcelona’s first team. He made 27 La Liga appearances for the club in his two seasons and was loaned to Valencia in 2022 before joining Porto in 2023 after the loan spell.
Nico Gonzalez career
In all competitions, Gonzalez made 26 appearances for Barcelona B, 37 for Barcelona first team, 26 for Valencia, and 40 for Porto. He has scored six club career goals in 130 appearances.
International career and Juventus contract
Nico Gonzalez has yet to win his senior cap with the Spain national team. He has played for the team’s U-17s and U-21s. At the time of this report, his contract with Juventus has yet to be confirmed.
