Serie A giants, Inter Milan have announced the signing of Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi on a free transfer from FC Porto.
The 31-year-old striker signed a three-year contract with the reigning champions of the Serie A, which ends on June 30, 2027.
Upon the Inter Milan announcement, Taremi claimed joining the club was a dream come true. He said, “I’m very happy to be here. For me, this is a dream come true. I have to say that this is the best moment of my life.”

Inter Milan noted that the former Porto striker is the first Iranian to play for the club. The 31-year-old striker scored 91 goals in 182 appearances for Porto from 2020 to 2024.
Taremi is the third signing for Inter Milan this summer. They have completed the signing of Piotr Zielinski, who is another free agent, and Josep Martinez, who joined the club from Genoa for €15 million.
Inter Milan are still very active in the transfer window, and they are currently in search of defensive reinforcements after Canadian defender Tajon Buchanan suffered a horrible injury in the 2024 Copa America.
Buchanan will be out of on-field action until December 2024.
