Diego Junior, the son of Diego Armando Maradona says inheritance of the Napoli legend is the last thing on his mind as legal tussle continues on his property.

There is an ongoing legal battle since the death of Maradona from a cardiac arrest on November 25. La Repubblica reports that Maradona’s will could be worth up to $100m. It was further gathered that the former Napoli and Barcelona star had excluded his ex-wife Veronica Ojeda and his daughters from his testament.

Diego Jr, who was born in 1986, was only recognized by Maradona in 2007.

“Inheritance is now the last of my thoughts, I would have preferred to starve all my life instead of facing this problem.

“We children were all brought together for the sake of my father. Today the situation is so tangled that I cannot afford to express a judgment, and among other things, there is an investigation in progress,” Maradona’s son told Canale 5.

Will Maradona’s body be exhumed for DNA to sort out legal tussle on his property?

Maradona could have more than the five children he accepted before his death. According to local media, the legend could have up to 11 children. Those he didn’t accept are now waiting for a DNA test.

Santiago Lara is one of those demanding DNA to prove that he was fathered by the Argentine great, having said he had tried several avenues to get the DNA but all to no avail.

“In Argentina there are many false versions coming out, for my life I respect a certain kind of struggles, but you have to do it in a human way.

“When you go out to a cemetery with your lawyer and the press to ask for an exhumation of the body 48 hours after a person is dead, it sucks. I don’t accept that.

“I respect people who act with the right procedures, I have always said that if they are my brothers, we are here for everyone, with open arms, but you can’t make a war because my father is no longer here and he can’t defend himself.”

With the way things are going, there might be a legal procedure that might lead to a DNA procedure to prove the paternity of the ‘unrecognised’ children to address this issue surrounding Maradona’s property once and for all.
