‘I know you are frustrated, but my love Man U never left me’, Jesse Lingard apologizes to fans, reveals personal struggle

    Manchester United midfielder, Jesse Lingard has opened up on his personal struggle during the 2019-20 season.

    Lingard, who had struggled to impress throughout the 2019-20 said he lost his sense of identity on and off the pitch.

    In his last outing for United, the midfielder scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the 98th minute of the final game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium. The win helped the Red Devils seal qualification to next season’s Champions League.

    He robbed off Kasper Schmeichel of the ball to slot into an empty net. This is expected to be a relief and a confidence booster for him to regain his form.

    He took to his Instagram page to explain that he lost who he was as a player, but he not giving up.

    “Im starting with the man in the mirror im asking him to change his ways. This season has been difficult for so many reasons.

    “I lost who I was as a player and person, but I never wanted to give up, I knew who I really was on and off the pitch and knew that having been there before I could get there again. “

    While admitting that he has to work harder to prove himself again, the Englishman pointed out that those around him could help as well.

    “This meant working harder than I’d ever done before and trusted in those around me that they knew how to best help me achieve that. I know the fans have been frustrated but in all this time my love for this club and everyone connected to it has never left me. This team, this club is my family and I will continue to keep working harder than ever to help this team achieve its goals.”
