The Philadelphia Union have ended their ties with head coach Jim Curtin after 10 years, according to reports.
Curtin was the 2nd longest-tenured coach in the MLS (Major League Soccer), and he recorded 174 wins, 93 draws, and 138 losses as boss of the Philadelphia Union.
The Union missed the playoffs this season for the first time since 2017 and it apparently didn’t go down well with administrators of the club.
In July 2023, Jim Curtin signed an extension to remain with Philadelphia Union through 2026.
However, he will now have to look for a new club, having seen his contract end abruptly in November 2024.
Curtin was appointed as permanent boss of Philadelphia Union in January 2015, having previously been caretaker manager of the side between June and December 2014.
Jim Curtin was also assistant manager of the Union between November 2012 and June 2014, acting in the subservient role under John Hackworth, who currently handles St. Louis CITY.
Curtin had also in the past taken charge of the cadet team of Philadelphia Union between July 2010 and November 2012.
The 45-year-old helped the Union claim the Supporters’ Shield title in the 2019/20 MLS season.
