Harry Kane became England’s all-time record goalscorer after he reached 54 goals for his country in their European Championship qualifier against Italy on Thursday, 23rd of March, 2023.

However, the England striker was presented with a Golden Boot on Sunday in front of 85 thousand spectators before the Three Lions versus Ukraine match gets underway.

England vs Ukraine match in brief

Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka scored for the Three Lions as they easily won 2-0 at Wembley against Ukraine.

England’s 2-0 victory over Ukraine was their second straight first-group-stage victory in Euro 2024 qualification.

For Gareth Southgate’s team, Bukayo Saka stood out, as he provided the assist on England’s first goal, which Harry Kane converted for his 55th international goal.

The Three Lions have a tight handle on first place in Group C after two games thanks to a lead that was doubled when Saka curled home a world-class second goal.

Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s winger shook off his defender on the outside of the box and curled a magnificent attempt past Anatoliy Trubin and into the top corner.

On the other hand, his excellent performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

With a comeback from Ukraine seeming unlikely, England captain Harry Kane made way for Leicester City’s James Maddison, who impressed in his first start for England, and Brentford’s Ivan Toney, who also made his international debut as a late substitute.

With a convincing win over Ukraine at Wembley, England kept their perfect start to Euro 2024 qualification intact.

The foundation laid by Gareth Southgate’s team’s first away win over Italy since 1961 was more than enough to defeat the visitors.

What’s next for England?

In June, England will play North Macedonia at home and then travel to Malta for another European qualifying match.
