Harry Kane has set a new record at Bayern Munich after he bagged a brace for the Germain powerhouse against Augsburg on the 27th of August, 2023.
The Arsenal academy product secured a brace for Bayern Munich as the Bundesliga champions clinched a 3-1 victory over Augsburg.
The 30-year-old joined the Germain powerhouse this summer after a deal worth 104 million pounds was approved between Bayern and Tottenham.
The English national team captain went on with a perfect record in the Bundesliga since his record transfer move.
Kane, the former Tottenham Hotspur captain didn’t score on his debut for Bayern as the team lost the German Super Cup in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of RB Leipzig.
However, since the Germain League started, 30-year-old Kane has looked resolved as he netted on his league debut against Weder Bremen.
Harry Kane had now followed up the performance with a brace in his second league match.
The goals were even sweeter because they came on his league home debut at the Allianz Arena (where the Super Cup was played).
The England captain scored his first goal at the Allianz Arena from the penalty spot after Augsburg’s Niklas Dorsch committed a handball.
Harry Kane calmly buried the penalty he was awarded with Augsburg goalkeeper Finn Dahmen diving to his left as he struck the ball into the middle of the goal.
His penalty increased Bayern Munich’s lead just before halftime after Felix Uduokhai scored an own goal in the 32nd minute.
Kane then snatched his second goal of the match as he jabbed past Finn Dahmen and made it 3-0 for Bayern Munich.
Alphonso Davies exchanged passes with Kingsley Coman on the left, then the Canadian left-back crossed to Kane in the penalty area, and the Englishman finished the play with a well-placed shot.
Augsburg’s Dion Drena Beljo twisted Sven Ulreich and buried a consolation goal for the visitors in the 86th minute.
With these goals, Kane also joined a selected group of players at Bayern, becoming just the third to score thrice in the team’s first two matches.
The only other players to do this were Gustav Jung in 1967 and Adolfo Valencia in 1993.
On Kane’s Bundesliga debut last weekend, he assisted Bayern to a 4-0 victory over Werder Bremen with a goal and an assist.
Bayern locked their second successive triumph to open the 2023/2024 Bundesliga campaign.
The Germain powerhouse are on six points, with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin, VfL Wolfsburg, and Freiburg.
Speaking after the game, Harry Kane said; “It was a good win in the first home game of the season, We created good chances, could have scored more”.
He added; “We still have room for improvement in the final third of the pitch. We have great quality. I love the chemistry in the team, we’re growing together more and more”.
He further took to his Twitter page to share a video where he was seen expressing his happiness towards the club’s second victory of the new season.
Kane has been making strong efforts to settle into life in Germany.
He has begun taking language classes twice weekly and has also been issued a business vehicle.
