Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has returned to football for the first time in the 2021-2021 season. He traveled with Tottenham to Wolves ahead of the club’s second league game of the season.
Recall that Harry Kane refused to resume pre-season training at Tottenham Hotspur after his post-Euro 2020 break. He showed up about a week after the date he was due to resume.
After his resumption, he took to Twitter to insist that he didn’t boycott the club’s pre-season training and that he was still loyal to the club.

Since Harry Kane resumed at the Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur have played one league game without featuring him. The game was between the club and Manchester City. Fortunately for Spurs, the club won 1-0 without Kane.
The captain of the Three Lion of England who is also the captain of Tottenham Hotspur was left in London when Spurs traveled to Portugal to play their Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos de Ferreira on Thursday. Unfortunately for Spurs, the Portuguese club beat the Premier League club 1-0.
In the absence of Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son who just renewed his contract with Tottenham Hotspur has been more or less the club’s talisman. The South Korean football icon scored the club’s winner against Manchester City last weekend.
Even though Tottenham looked solid against Manchester City last weekend without Harry Kane, his new coach, Nuno Espirito Santo would be excited that the club’s captain is finally back and available to play.
Initially, Harry Kane decided to stay away from Tottenham Hotspur as an attempt to force the club to sell him to Manchester City. Recall that Manchester City made a bid of £100 million to lure Kane away from Spurs, but the club rejected it.
After that, reports in the United Kingdom claimed that Manchester City were not ready to give up on the pursuit of Kane’s signature even though the club have signed Jack Grealish for £100 million.
But since the season resumed fully on August 14, 2021, the speculation about Kane’s move to Man City has relatively died and it is gradually looking like the move might not work this summer.
Hence, Kane returned to full training with Tottenham Hotspur’s first team on Tuesday, August 17, for the first time this season. Since then, he has not stopped preparing for the Premier League game against Wolves.
