Harry Kane has officially made good his promise not to show up at Tottenham Hotspur as he was reportedly absent at the club earlier today, August 2.

Harry Kane has been on holiday since July 12, a day after Italy national team stopped England from winning Euro 2020. He played all 7 games in the tournament and managed to score four goals including a spot-kick in the final of the tournament.

Recall that before the tournament kicked off on June 11, the 28-year-old England international has made it clear that he wanted to leave Tottenham Hotspur because he feels the club have not been ambitious enough in terms of winning titles.

Recall that Harry Kane has been at Tottenham Hotspur throughout his career except between 2011 and 2012 when he went on loan to Leyton Orient and then to Norwich. After that, he has remained loyal to Tottenham even though he has not been able to win any major title with them.

Towards the end of the European Championship in 2021, Manchester City offered Tottenham Hotspur £100 million for the services of the England international but Spurs rejected it.

After the European Championship on July 11, reports revealed that Harry Kane had vowed not to return to Tottenham for pre-season in an attempt to force the London club to allow him to go.

Since that report went viral, most football fans and media outlets have been looking forward to today, August 2, to see whether the football star would fail to show up to training. To the dismay of those who doubted the report, Harry Kane did not show up for pre-season training.

This is also a slap on the face of the club’s new football manager, Nuno Espirito who had insisted that Kane remains the player of the club. He also insisted that the player would have to commit to the club when he returns to Tottenham this summer.

The coach said: “When he arrives he will feel that he has to commit himself to become better. We are ambitious, we want to do well and we count on Harry to do that.

“Harry is our player, period. There is no need to talk about anything else. Now is the time for him to rest. When he returns we can have a good conversation. I am looking forward to him joining the group.”

As it stands, coach Nuno would have to wait a little longer to have Kane back to the club. From all indications, the England international seems ready to fight for his exit from Spurs with every possible means.

No matter how he tries to fight for his exit from Tottenham, the club still has the final say because Harry Kane still has three seasons left on his contract with the Premier League club.
