Harry Kane hit another landmark in his Tottenham career after he equaled Jimmy Hargreaves’s 266 goals for Tottenham after win over Fulham.

In the buildup to the London derby with Marco Silva’s Fulham, Harry Kane’s Tottenham future was at the center of the spotlights.

There were reports linking him to Man United move as the transfer window winds down, but he was also interested in talks of contract renewal.

His prolific form for Spurs has not translated into a good Premier League run for the London club. This has been in the heart of the speculations linking him to a possible exit.

Against Fulham, Harry Kane once again did the magic and helped Spurs retain their top four hopes by scoring a winner against the home side.

The goal saw him equaled Tottenham’s all-time highest goal-scorer, Jimmy Hargreaves’ record of 266 goals for the London club.

With 18 months remaining in his contract, He will now go into contract negotiations as a joint all-time top-scorer for the London club.

Harry Kane obviously has the bragging rights now after matching Jimmy Hargreaves’ record which has been unrivaled for 53 years.

The England captain matched it with a vintage effort, holding off a defender with his brute strength and finding the corner with laser-like accuracy during first-half stoppage time.

It was enough to give Antonio Conte a much-needed victory that moved his side to within three points of fourth-placed Manchester United, albeit having played a game more.

Spurs have become a soft touch of late, conceding a whopping 21 goals in their last ten league games prior to the game shipping two or more in nine of those.

Fulham have been in fine form, winning five games in a row before last week’s last-gasp defeat at Newcastle.

With Spurs struggling at the moment, it was unsurprising that the hosts had the better of the first half.

Hugo Lloris has drop mind-blowing clangers of late but he did well to keep Fulham at bare, stopping strikes from Bobby DeCordova-Reid, Pereira and Harrison Reed.

Spurs started to show some attacking intent late in the game with Harry Kane firing a shot in anger and Emerson Royal testing Bernd Leno at his near post.

Then, in first-half stoppage time, they nicked the lead thanks to Harry Kane’s strike which was enough to secure all three points for Lilywhites.

Kane held off Tim Ream and fired into the far corner, displaying the power, precision and ruthlessness that have made him into one of the world’s greatest strikers.

The goal drew him level with the legendary Greaves’ haul – a record which has stood since 1970.

Kane almost broke it just before the hour when nodding on Ben Davies’ header back but was denied by Leno’s super stop.

Fulham pushed for a leveller with their own talisman Aleksandar Mitrovic heading over with 15 minutes left.

But they were ultimately undone by Kane, like so many teams before them

Greaves hit his 266 in 379 games, Kane has done it in 415.
