The son of Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone, Giovanni Simeone, took to his Instagram account to tell his father how much he loved him after the manager wrote a letter on his page about his intention of leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the season.

Simeone son, Giovanni, who plays for Napoli in Serie A, has a close relationship with his father.

His father wrote him a lovely message after he scored his first goal in the Champions League last season.

Simeone posted Giovanni’s picture on his Instagram page with the caption “Dear Luis”, in Spanish.

The 52-year-old Argentine manager made 612 appearances for the club and won different awards. In the content of the letter, he claimed he will never forget the day he told his friend Sergio he wanted to sign for Atletico Madrid.

In addition, Simeone won the UEFA Super Cup in 2012–13 and 2018–19. Other trophies in his cabinet as an Atletico Madrid manager were two Europa Leagues, one Spanish Cup, and one Spanish Super Cup.

Simeone had a winning rate of 59.1%, while the manager’s draw rate at Atletico Madrid is at 23% and the loss rate is just 17%. Over the years, Atletico Madrid has been one of the biggest clubs in Europe and has one of the most defensive-minded players in the world.

Simeone was criticized for his style of football, which was a 4-3-3 formation. He employs counterattack football and defensive play.

He is going to be a big loss to Atletico Madrid and Spanish football as a whole.

Simeone was the only manager to win the La Liga title for a La Liga team for the past 17 years, apart from Real Madrid and Barcelona.

The manager led Atletico Madrid to a run of 14 victories at home and made the team qualify for the Champions League for nine consecutive seasons.

The Argentine manager led Atletico Madrid to two Champions League finals, where he lost to the almighty Real Madrid both in Lisbon and Milan.

Simeone was the man who led Atletico
Madrid to their best unbeaten streak in history with 23 matches.

Although he is likely to return to management immediately as Chelsea and Liverpool are looking forward to getting the manager’s attention.

On the other hand, there are rumors that Atletico Madrid will look to Luis Enrique to replace the outgoing manager.

Enrique is currently without a job after leaving the Spain national team after he missed the World Cup quarterfinals, losing to Morocco on penalties.
