Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon shuns retirement plan in his career at the moment. The number one believes quitting now would rip him off the beautiful memory remaining after his record-breaking.
Buffon equals Paolo Maldini at the top of Serie A’s list of all-time appearances during his feature against Sampdoria. The former Italy goalkeeper replaced the injured Wojciech Szczesny in their away 2-1 win at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, on Wednesday.
The match became his 647th in Italy’s top flight and his 479th for Juve. Just one more than the earlier club record holder Alessandro Del Piero.
The Italian shotstopper spent 17 years in his first-term with the Bianconeri. And helping Juventus earn seven straight Scudetti before leaving for Paris Saint-Germain in 2018.
The 41-year-old Buffon has not been without errors since returning from a single season adventure in France. But every goalkeeper is likely to make mistakes.
Meanwhile, the record-breaker knows he still has many experiences waiting. As well as offers in his third decade as a professional.
However, initial reports say the former PSG keeper is considering to withdraw but obviously not retiring soon anymore. He intends to set more records and build vast memories before exiting.
