The model has now opened up on what it was like to hang out with one of the most well-known football players in the world.

Despite being one of the highest-paid athletes in history, Gemma claims that some of her dates with Ronaldo were rather routine and layed back.

She described a moment when she and the footballer simply sat out at her place drinking tea and listening to ‘Only Fools And Horses’ in a radio interview on Manchester’s Key 103.

“Genuinely!” said Gemma, “I don’t know if he’s into it now but he seemed to enjoy it.”

Atkinson asserted that she couldn’t be seduced by the big amounts she was being promised for disclosing every detail of her relationship with Ronaldo.

She clarified: “When we did split up, I got offered so much money to speak about him. And I didn’t want that.”

On Strictly Come Dancing in 2017, she eventually met dancer Gorka Marquez and discovered true love. Their daughter, Mia, was born in July 2019, and the couple are engaged.

Last Valentine’s Day, Gorka got down on one knee. However, the joyous day had to be postponed because of stringent Covid regulations in Spain, where Gorka’s family resides.

Even though she was aware that some individuals were going through a lot, Gemma told the Mirror at the time that Gorka’s confinement was “really pretty beautiful.”

She went on: “Gorka works away a lot so it was good to have that time together. Obviously it was horrendous for some people, but we just said, ‘Look, it is what it is. We’re not going to get this time back. Let’s embrace it.”

She also stated: “Normally with us juggling our work one of us will look after Mia and one of us will walk the dogs for example, but during lockdown we could do things as a family. We had a lovely weather too which was great. Before lockdown we always had to juggle things. We won’t have that back so we tried to make the most of it.”
