Manchester United legend Gary Neville revealed five players who made horrible mistakes against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup.
The former Manchester United right back named Harry Maguire, Mason Mount, Casemiro, Anthony Martial, and Hannibal Mejbri as the players who were horrible in the game.
Gary Neville said, “They’re just sleeping; they’re complaining to the referee, and while they’re whinging, Newcastle are winning.”
After the referee, Robert Jones, blew the whistle for a foul on a Newcastle player, Manchester United players were seen complaining.
The Newcastle players didn’t wait, and they quickly took the free kick, leading to the second goal for Newcastle.
Miguel Almiron set up Joe Willock behind the Manchester United defense, who were moving sluggishly.
Joe Willock crossed the ball, but it was headed away by Harry Maguire. Former Chelsea player Lewis Hall put the ball into the Manchester United net, with Andre Onana having no chance of stopping the ball.
Gary Neville also linked Manchester United players to the Under Nine team after the horrible performance.
It is Manchester United’s heaviest defeat in the Carabao Cup this season. Also, it is the second back-to-back defeat at Old Trafford.
According to other reports, Manchester United had lost eight matches out of the 15 matches in all competitions.
The pressure is currently mounting on the manager, who seems to be lost in ideas and tactics. If the results don’t change in the coming months, Manchester United may send the Dutch manager back to his country.
What next for Erik Ten Hag and Manchester United?
The club is currently in disarray from the top to the bottom. They are struggling on and off the pitch; in previous games, some of the players easily gave up and found it difficult to play as a team.
However, Manchester United play Fulham next on November 4, 2023, at Craven Cottage by 1:30 p.m.
It is a must-win match for the club, and Erik Ten Hag must ease off the unnecessary pressure on the manager. The club fans are losing hope in the manager, and they are already calling for his sack.
However, the manager believes he can turn everything around, but in order to do that, he should stop favoritism.
Different players whose names were withheld claimed the manager selected some of the players not on merit but on how he relates to them.
The majority of the players are not playing for the badge, and some fans are already showing big signs of frustration. Many had made vows that they wouldn’t be watching Red Devils’ next game.
