Gareth Bale is happy at Real Madrid and he is not planning to leave the club anytime soon, Jonathan Barnett, the agent of the Wales football icon claimed.

This is coming as a shocker because the once most expensive player in the world has been having it rough with the coach of the club, Zinedine Zidane and the fans of the club, who do not like the idea of him mixing his professional football career with golf which he plays for leisure. They believe that such a lifestyle would not benefit the club.

This criticism received more fire when he decided to celebrate Wales qualification for the 2020 European Championship (now postponed) by posing behind a flag that has the inscription: ‘Wales. Golf. Madrid. In That Order’ with the rest of his teammates.

Due to the ill-relationship, the former Tottenham Hotspur star has been enduring in Madrid, Gareth Bale has been heavily linked with a move to a club in the Premier League this summer. But his agent told BBC that such a move would not be possible because Bale is “quite happy in Madrid“.

Barnett stress that since the 30-year-old forward has “a very nice lifestyle”, he could possibly “see his career out at Madrid”.

“It’s his life that he wants to lead. Financially, he will want for nothing the rest of his life, and his children and grandchildren”, his agent said.

“He’s won nearly everything in the world, except the World Cup, but unfortunately he plays for Wales so some things are beyond him.

“So he’s won everything else, to come back and play [in the Premier League] would be unbelievable – a big thing.

“I don’t think he wants to do that at the moment. He’s quite happy to play at Real Madrid.”

Since his then world-record move in 2013, Bale has helped Madrid to win four Champions Leagues, one La Liga title and one Copa del Rey, as well as three Club World Cups, three Uefa Super Cups and one Spanish Super Cup.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid has reportedly joined the race for the signature of 20-year-old Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho. The England international is one of the hottest youngsters in the transfer market this summer.

Before now, Manchester United and Chelsea were the major clubs that have already lined up for his signature but Sancho is keen on joining United if they can pay the £100 million asking price of Dortmund.

Though Madrid is showing interest in recruiting more youngsters that will dominate world football in the future, it might be difficult to acquire the services of the Englishman who will prefer to return to his place of birth than to cross to Spain. Anyway, the transfer market is the game of money, influence and choice.
