The neighbours of former Chelsea football star, Ashley Cole, has finally revealed that the mansion of the footballer was invaded by some gang of masked robbers who wore a military camouflage.

The robbers invaded Ashley Cole’s mansion in Fetcham, Surrey, United Kingdom, at 9.45 pm on January 21, 2020. The attack attracted no form of media report when it first happened.

Sources disclosed that the attackers met Ashley Cole at home and he was tied to a chair while the robbers went on to steal as much jewellery as they could get hold of.

At the end of the devastating attack which looked like a well planned out mission, the 39-year-old youth coach of Chelsea football club was left unharmed but was said to be shaken by the attack.

Attack on Ashley Cole ought to be secret

Cole’s neighbour said the police wanted to keep the attack secret because they fear that there might be a repeated attack and they have been working so hard to unravel the people behind the attack.

Since the January attack, the neighbours of the ex-captain of the Three Lions have been subjected to door-to-door quizzing by the Surrey police department.

Cole’s mansion in the neighbourhood is said to be one of the most secured houses because he is one of the high-profile individuals living in the neighbourhood.

“The robbers sounded very professional and knew exactly what they were doing. They must have deliberately targeted Ashley and cased the place in advance”, a source said.

While reacting to the attack, Surrey Police confirmed that the robbery happened on January 21 and described the attack as “aggravated burglary“.

The police statement said: “Burglars broke into the property through the rear doors around 9.45 pm.

“The suspects searched the property, before escaping with a quantity of jewellery. They were described as wearing camouflage clothing, gloves and balaclavas.

“An investigation is underway and enquiries remain ongoing.”

Recall that Cole retired from active football at the end of the 2018/2019 football season. Before his retirement, he has played for Arsenal, Chelsea, Roma, LA Galaxy and Derby County. He was the captain of the England National Team in his A-days.
