Gabriel Jesus of Arsenal has criticized Yerry Mina of Everton for acting inappropriately toward him during their friendly match last week.

Jesus completed a £45 million transfer from Premier League champions Manchester City to the north Londoners this summer. Since joining the Gunners, the Brazilian has scored three goals, having an immediate effect on Mikel Arteta’s team.

His new colleagues have lauded the Brazilian, calling Jesus a “wonderful man” and someone with “incredible potential.” Despite being involved in an altercation with an Everton player during the game, Jesus scored in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Frank Lampard’s team.

Jesus scored the opening goal as the Gunners defeated the Ravens 2-0.

But during the game, Jesus got embroiled in a slightly less pleasant incident when the large Toffees center-back confronted him.

In the unpleasant part of an otherwise amusing game, Mina made several hostile gestures in his direction.

‘You know what, I have played with Mina before in Palmeiras,’ Jesus told TNT Sports. ‘We were so close to each other.

‘Then, after, I don’t know why he started to attack me to do something like this on my chest and then talking s**t. I don’t know why.

‘I don’t know the reason for him to do this. At the end I am not a kid any more and I go straight to him as well. After we on the game and that’s all.’

Mina has a history of agitating opponents, notably Lionel Messi during a match between Colombia and Argentina in 2021.

On Sunday, September 11, when the Gunners visit Everton at the Emirates, Jesus will next go up against Mina.

The Brazilian scored several goals against the Toffees last week to win the game, and he will want to do the same in the Premier League.

    Who is Yerry Mina?

A center defender for Premier League side Everton and the Colombian national team, Yerry Fernando Mina González was born in Colombia on September 23, 1994. With three goals in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, he shares the record for the most goals scored by a defender in a single World Cup.

Both Yerry Mina’s father and uncle played goalkeeping in professional football. His uncle drove him to the Deportivo Pasto tryout, and his father counseled him to play a different position.

Mina is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a part of the neo-Pentecostal Church of God Ministry. At numerous church-sponsored gatherings, Mina has shared publicly about his life and religion.

Does Mina have a beef with Gabriel Jesus?

There is no proof that the former teammates had any problems before that preseason game, and Yerry Mina had always come across as a composed player before the altercation with Jesus.

We will learn if there are any problems between them in due time. It’s possible that they have a long-standing dispute or that Mina was simply acting aggressively in his role as a defender.
