The Arsenal star hasn’t played since the World Cup after hurting his knee while representing Brazil.

Jesus, 25, was seen afterward using crutches to make his way back to the Gunners’ practice field.

But he seemed to blow them off in his most recent Instagram post.

The forward uploaded a photo of himself leaning to one side while using crutches.

He gave it the caption “Liberdade cantou,” which translates to “Freedom song” in English.

Jesus has been using the gym as a kind of therapy since his catastrophic injury.

In 20 appearances for the Gunners before the World Cup, the former Manchester City star scored five goals and provided seven assists.

The earliest he may possibly return to action is late February.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, made a suggestion that his team would look to replace Jesus before their Boxing Day match against West Ham. But that didn’t happen.

He said: “With Gabi it’s difficult to put a time frame. I never gave a date. I said that we don’t know.”

“It’s going to take some time for sure. He’s gone through surgery and that tells you the extent of the injury.”

“We will be in the market always active and we will assess the biggest opportunities that we have.”

The Gunners have won both games without Jesus so far without having much trouble. They however drew their game against Newcastle on Tuesday night, January 3.

After returning from the World Cup break, Arsenal defeated West Ham 3-1 before defeating Brighton 4-2; in both games, Eddie Nketiah, Jesus’ backup, scored.

    What happened To Gabriel Jesus?

Gabriel Jesus underwent right knee surgery after getting hurt during Brazil’s World Cup match against Cameroon in the group round.

In the 64th minute of Brazil’s 1-0 loss, the striker was substituted, and it was later revealed that a knee injury kept him out of the rest of the World Cup.

The 25-year-old has undergone surgery and is beginning his rehabilitation, according to Arsenal.

Jesus started every game for Arteta’s Gunners from the start of the season until the World Cup break, helping them to the top of the Premier League table, eight points clear of their closest rivals Manchester City.

Jesus’ influence at Arsenal after his £45 million transfer from Manchester City is evident on and off the field.

The Brazilian striker and Oleksandr Zinchenko, according to several members of the Arsenal team, brought a “winning attitude” with them from City over the summer. Jesus, a centre forward, has been the Gunners’ player for the big game with five goals and six assists in his first 14 appearances.

Eddie Nketiah must now take the lead up front since Jesus is expected to sit out for a while.

Nketiah proved at the conclusion of last season that he can start regularly for the Gunners with five goals in seven league games, but he found it difficult to fight Jesus for a starting position before the Brazilian’s injury.
