The Gunners officially confirmed the move on Monday morning, as they posted a video of the striker on all their social media platforms.

Gabriel Jesus’ move to Arsenal makes him the fourth player to join the club this summer after the signings of Fabio Vieira, Marquinhos, and Matt Turner.

However, the Brazilian player is the main man who fans hope will help them the most next season.

Jesus has also taken the No.9 jersey that he wore during his last days at Manchester City.

Recall that the 25-year-old has interest from both Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur but he decided to reunite with Mikel Arteta who was a former Manchester City assistant manager.

Speaking on his move, Jesus told the club’s official website: ‘I followed Arsenal when I was young because of [Thierry] Henry. Obviously I didn’t follow too many European teams but when I saw some of the players that played here, I was like “wow, this club is big”.

‘When I played against Arsenal I was looking at the Emirates and it was a very good stadium, so I’m very excited to play here. I’m so happy to sign for this big club. Since day one when I knew I could come to play for Arsenal, I was happy. I know the staff, I know some players, the Brazilian ones.

According to multiple reports, Manchester City will use the money generated from the sale of Jesus to finalize the signing of Kalvin Philips from Leeds United whose official announcement will be made soon. It’s believed that the Englishman will cost Man City around £42million plus add-ons.

Gabriel Jesus will have to link up with new faces in front for the first time in five years as Arsenal has renewed the contract of Eddie Nketiah and also another Brazilia forward Gabriel Martinelli.

Mikel Arteta’s influence and relationship with Gabriel Jesus is one of the reasons why he decided to join Arsenal and he sees Jesus as the player to get his team into the top four.

Note that Gabriel Jesus joined Manchester City from Palmeiras in 2016 and was seen as a backup and then a replacement for legendary Sergio Aguero. He made a total of 236 appearances with 95 goals in six seasons for the club.

Gabriel Jesus was among the stars who helped Pep Guardiola’s team to reach 100 English Premier League points in 2018. However, the Brazilian has never been a regular starter for the club but hopes to get more game time at Arsenal.
