Fulham have completed the signing of midfielder Sander Berge from Burnley for an initial fee of €23.5 million.

Reports indicate that there will also be about €6 million performance-based add-ons embedded in the deal.

Fulham Sign Sander Berge From Burnley

Berge becomes Fulham’s 4th signing this summer, having already secured the services of Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca, and Ryan Sessegnon.

Confirming the acquisition of Sander Berge, Fulham put out a statement on their website which read:

“The Club is delighted to confirm the signing of Sander Berge from Burnley for an undisclosed fee.”

The Norwegian midfielder has agreed to a five-year deal with Fulham, which will keep him at the Craven Cottage side until the summer of 2029, with an option for a further year.

The Cottagers also revealed that Berge has been handed the number 16 shirt at the club.

Speaking to the team’s TV channel after signing for Fulham, Sander Berge expressed that “it feels fantastic” to be joining the London-based side.

He said: “It feels fantastic. It’s been a little bit back and forth the last few weeks, but I’m finally sitting here in the shirt in this beautiful stadium, knowing that my future is here, which feels great.”

The 26-year-old midfielder also pointed out the “DNA of the club”, sharing that it also aligns with his leanings.

Berge added: “The DNA of the Club is to be dominant, aggressive, front-footed, and play nice football, and I think that suits me.”

Serge Berge made 40 appearances for Burnley in the 2023/24 season, scoring 2 goals and providing 2 assists in all competitions.

Fulham

Fulham supporters will be hoping that Berge can accentuate brilliance at the club, as they hunt for relative success in the coming years.

Marco Silva’s side commenced the 2024/25 Premier League season with a 1-0 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford and they return to action on Saturday, August 24, 2024, welcoming Leicester City to Craven Cottage.

They currently occupy the 15th spot on the league table, having picked up no points after one game played this term.

Nottingham Forest Sign Alex Moreno From Aston Villa On Loan

The Tricky Trees have secured the services of left-back Alex Moreno from Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, with an option for a permanent deal.

The Spaniard had fallen behind new signings Ian Maatsen and Lucas Digne in the pecking order at Villa Park and was desiring playing time.

It appears that was the reason why he opted to join Nottingham Forest this summer, having previously been linked with the club.

Alex Moreno joined Aston Villa from La Liga side Real Betis in January 2023, for a fee of €13.5 million.

Moreno made 29 appearances for the Villains in the 2023/24 season, scoring 3 goals and providing no assists across all competitions.

Alex Moreno was helpful to Aston Villa last term, as they ended the season in 4th position and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.

It will be fascinating to see what Moreno will offer to Nottingham Forest, as they battle to remain in the top flight this term.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side started the campaign with a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth at the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest currently sit in 11th position on the Premier League table and they return to action on August 24, 2024, facing Southampton at the St. Mary’s Stadium.
