Earlier this week, reports in Germany confirmed that Frank Kramer has been appointed the new manager of Schalke 04 as he helped them to survive a relegation scare in the Bundesliga.

The 50-year-old was shown the exit door at Arminia Bielefeld after a bad run of games that saw them relegate to the second division.

Futballnews can confirm that Frank Kramer signed a two-year contract with the club and will be replacing their interim manager, Micheal Buskens. Micheal Buskens will become the new assistant coach under Frank.

One of the Schalke 04 board members said; “We asked ourselves what profile a new coach should have to play soccer successfully with Schalke. And success in our current situation means staying up in 2022-23; that’s what it’s all about”.

Frank will also be assisted by Matthias Kreutzer, Simon Henzler who will take the role of their goalkeeping coach as well as Gerald Asamoah who will be their general player-manager.

Kramer said: “I can hardly wait to get to work with the team and staff. Schalke, with around 160,000 members and many millions of fans, is one of the biggest clubs in Germany.

“I am super happy to be here. Schalke are one of the biggest clubs in Germany. I am looking forward to the atmosphere in the Veltins-Arena. Thinking about it gives you goosebumps”.

This job will be the fourth for Frank Kramer in his coaching career. Stints at Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hoffenheim have helped him become very versatile and experienced with the style of football being played in Germany.

He has also dismissed claims that Buskens will be a problem for him at the club, as he is willing to work with him.
