Former West Ham forward Enner Valencia’s sister was kidnapped in Ecuador

    Former West Ham United forward, Enner Valencia, is facing a family crisis after his sister was kidnapped last Tuesday in the city of San Lorenzo, Esmeraldas, Ecuador.

    According to the Ecuadorian press, the 28-year-old, named Erci, was taken from the family home by eight heavily armed kidnappers in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to statements given to the El Comercio newspaper by the victim’s husband, Jose Mina. Mina claims he only escaped the Kidnappers by throwing himself into a river.

    Police reports indicate that, according to the partner of the victim Erci Valencia; 8 armed men entered the inn where they were staying and kidnapped his wife.     The Valencia family reportedly has no news about Erci’s whereabouts as of Wednesday morning and hadn’t been contacted by the suspected kidnappers.

    Valencia has been a regular for Ecuador since his debut in March 2012. He has made over 50 appearances for the national team, scoring 31 goals.

    The 30-year-old is currently a free agent after his contract with Liga MX club Tigres expired in June. The former West Ham star is, however, subject of a move to Turkish outfit, Fenerbahce.
