The 24-year-old German international player Leroy Sane has been linked with a return to the Bundesliga League which seemed to be the best option for the star player. However, his former teammate in Schalke, Dennis Aogo has raised doubts about the possibility of Sane excelling in Germany’s biggest club.

Dennis Aogo who shared the Schalke jersey with Leroy Sane between 2013 before the latter moved to the Premier League side in 2016, disclosed that Sane is a very sensitive player which might be a little set back for him in Bayern Munich.

Leroy Sane has been rumored to be in talks with Bayern Munich for a potential transfer deal during the next transfer window. The German player joined the Premier League club in 2016 with a deal worth £45 million. He formed an impeccable alliance with the likes of Raheem Sterling, David Silva, and Kun Aguero during the 2018/19 season making him one of the most feared attackers in the league. However, it seems the new scheme Pep Guardiola developed for selecting the first eleven is not working in favor of Leroy Sane.

This has hindered him from featuring in some of the important games for Manchester City since the 2019/20 season commenced. Expectedly, he sought to find a team where he can find a better chance of playing, and apparently, Bayern Munich seemed to be the best option.

Dennis Aogo while exploring the possibility of Leroy Sane excelling at Allianz Arena, Aogo said he really admired the style of play of Leroy Sane, however, he does not know if the 24-year-old Germany player is strong enough to handle the pressure that is attached to playing for Bayern Munich. Aogo explained that he knows the Manchester City player to be a very sensitive individual, this literally means that things easily get at him and swift to affect him mentally.

Aogo revealed this during an interview with Goal.com, in his words, he said: “I think it would be awesome for the league [if Sane would return to Bundesliga] because he’s a spectacle. However, I do not know whether a move to Bayern would be right for Leroy.

“The package of expectations and transfer fee could have an impact on him. He is a fine guy, but I also got to know him as a sensitive character. He may have evolved in this regard, but this backpack could also become too heavy after such a serious injury.”

It would be recalled that Leroy Sane has not featured in any game since August 2019 after he limped off the pitch during the Community Shield clash between Liverpool and Manchester City. Reasonably, Sane underwent surgery to get him back in shape. However, despite making a great effort to return in March 2020, the coronavirus outbreak put an indefinite stop to the 2019/20 season.

What is worthy to know is that Sane only has one year left on his contract for Manchester City. Also, his inability to impress the Etihad bosses for a while which has caused him to be left him out of major games in several features, a transfer deal might be the best option for him. Interestingly, the rumor flying around ahead of the 2020 summer transfer window is that Bayern Munich is in talks with Sane to get his signature.

This was confirmed by his agent Damir Smoljan earlier last week, he said “Together with him, we talk with Manchester City about what the next step could look like. The interest of Bayern Munich is no secret. But other absolute top clubs also contacted us about Leroy.

“Bayern is the only club in Germany that Leroy can imagine as the next step in his career. He sees there the requirements for achieving his big goal of winning the Champions League.”
