Trabzonspor striker, Benik Afobe hoped to have a better season and it seemed his prayers are being answered.
The Congolese national hit the ground running, scoring two goals in two games with the Turkish outfit.
Afobe is currently on loan with the Turkish outfit from Championship club, Stoke City. His 2019/20 season was blighted by injuries and the death of his two-year-old daughter, Amora.

Afobe hoped to have a successful season after his loan spell with Bristol City last season. The Congolese played only 13 games for the Championship club and scored three goals.
Afobe scored in August for the Potters when he played for the entire month. He found the back of the net in the wins against Queens Park Rangers and Hull City.
He was then ruled out of action from September and did not return to the field until the restart of the Championship in June. He completed the season with Bristol. He featured for 18 minutes in a 3-1 loss to Blackburn Rovers and played six more games for the club. Part of his appearance was during 1-0 defeats against Nottingham Forest and Swansea City.
He is now banging in goals for Trabzonspor. It is hoped that this is the first of many good things that will hopefully happen to him.

Afobe’s football journey from Arsenal to Trabzonspor
He began his career at Arsenal but never played for Gunner’s first team before his departure.
While he was an Arsenal player, he was sent out on loan to Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and MK Dons before being snapped up permanently by Wolves.
After failing to perform at the Molineux, the club loaned him to Stoke on loan during the 2018-19 season before he joined permanently at the end of that campaign.
From the 50 games he played for the Potters, he scored nine goals and providing five assists.
Afobe, who also had a stint with Bournemouth in the Premier League between 2016 and 2018 is hoping to create history with Trabzonspor. It won’t be surprising if he ends up joining the club permanently.
