Football fans ranked Bayern Munich legendary winger Franck Ribery as one of the 25 best free kick takers ever as he celebrated his 41-year-old birthday.
The former French international was born on April 7, 1983, in the city of Boulogne-sur-Mer, France. He started his football career in 2000 and ended it in 2022.
During his playing time, Ribery scored six free kicks.
He was an excellent creative player who was capable of providing assists and scoring goals. The former French international could have won the Ballon d’Or if not for the consistency of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
During his beautiful career, the former Bayern Munich winger made 632 appearances, scoring 151 goals and creating 224 assists in all competitions. In addition, the winger received 80 yellow cards and nine red cards.
Out of the 151 goals scored in all club competitions, Ribery scored 124 goals for Bayern Munich, 18 goals for Olympic Marseille, five goals for Fiorentina, one goal for Galatasaray, one goal for Brestois, and two goals for FC Metz.
The former Bayern Munich winger made his international debut for France on May 27, 2006. He went on to score 16 goals in 81 appearances for his country.
In terms of winning trophies and personal awards, Ribery won the UEFA Best Player of the Year in 2013. He was named four times French Player of the Year.
In addition, Ribery won the UEFA Champions League, the FIFA Club World Cup, nine German Bundesliga titles, a UEFA Super Cup, six German Cups, four German Super Cups, and the German League Cup with Bayern Munich.
While he was at Galatasaray, he won the Turkish Cup in the 2004–05 season.
Upon his retirement as a football player in 2022, Ribery decided to stay at Salernitana as a technical manager in the Serie A under the management of Paulo Sousa.
In October 2023, Franck Ribery obtained a UEFA B coaching license. Currently, he is more focused on putting Salernitana on the path of progress by assisting other coaching staff in ensuring they compete at the highest level.
