    Florentino Perez has opened the doors of Real Madrid to Cristiano Ronaldo as the 37-year-old intensifies his push for an Old Trafford exit.

    Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes continued to push for a move from the Old Trafford club. Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez, has extended an olive branch to the Portugal international to return to the club, but with conditions attached.

    Recall that Perez has previously dispelled rumors linking the Merengues to the Portugal international while playing for Juventus. He stated that it would be impossible for Cristiano Ronaldo to return to Santiago Bernabeu.

    Perez dispelled Ronaldo to Real Madrid transfer rumors in 2021. Fast forward to 2022, he has opened the doors of Real Madrid to the multiple Ballon d ‘Or winner, but with terms and conditions. Can Ronaldo return to Real Madrid?

    Outlining his terms and conditions for a possible Ronaldo return, Florentino Perez revealed the circumstances that led to Ronaldo’s Real Madrid exit. Ronaldo left Santiago Bernabeu in 2018. According to Perez, Ronaldo wanted to be the highest-paid player in the world to beat Barcelona’s offer for Lionel Messi. 

    “Ronaldo has always wanted to be a step ahead of Messi in all aspects, but I was not ready to collapse the club’s budget just to make him happy,” Florentino Perez said.

    Perez went on to state his conditions for Real Madrid to sign Cristiano Ronaldo back to Real Madrid. According to him, the doors of Real Madrid are opened for the 37-year-old to join the Merengues, but he should not expect to get paid more than young players as age is no longer on his side.

    “If he is ready to return, we will welcome him back. But there are terms and conditions. He can’t get paid more than the younger players. He is older now and will soon reach retirement age,” Perez added.

    Meanwhile, Cristiano Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes have been vigorously vying for a Champions League team to bid for the services of the Ballon d ‘Or winner. Mendes stated that his client is ready to accept a pay cut of up to 30% to join a Champions League team.
