The president of Real Madrid, Florentino Perez described Cristiano Ronaldo as an ‘imbecile’ and called coach Jose Mourinho ‘abnormal’ according to two audios that were recorded in 2012.

The Spanish football administrator criticized the “huge egos” of Cristiano Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho in two audios that were leaked earlier today, July 14, 2021.

In the content of the audios, Florentino Perez argued that the attitudes of Ronaldo and Mourinho limited how far they would have gone in their careers.

Florentino Perez made these statements when Mourinho was the football manager of Real Madrid and Ronaldo was a player of the club.

The two Portuguese superstars helped the club to win a series of honors and brought more media attention to the club. Between 2010 and 2013 that Jose Mourinho served as the manager of the club, he helped the club to win one La Liga title, one Copa del Rey, and one Supercopa de España.

Despite winning at least a title per season, Jose Mourinho had to leave the club to return to Chelsea. Then, reports said his relationship with Florentino Perez was not as solid as it used to be before he left.

On the other hand, Cristiano Ronaldo who joined the club from Manchester United in 2009, helped the club to win two La Liga titles, two Copa Del Rey, two Supercopa de España, four UEFA Champions League, three UEFA Super Cup, and three FIFA Club World Cup.

Also, Ronaldo reached the peak of his football career at Real Madrid as he was so good that he won 4 Ballon d’Or at the Spanish club.

Despite how good he was at the club, he could not get the ideal contract extension that he wanted. The Portuguese football star accepted a pay cut to join Juventus in 2018.

“He is mad,” Florentino Perez said of Ronaldo in one of the audios released by El Confidential. “This chap is an imbecile, he is ill.

“Do you think this chap is normal? He is not normal, otherwise, he wouldn’t do the things he does. The last foolish thing he did, everyone around the world saw it.

“Why do you think he does that foolish thing?”

“Mendes (the football agent of Ronaldo and Mourinho) does not order him, nor does he order Mourinho whatsoever. Zero. Not even for the interviews. These are guys with huge egos, both of them spoiled.

“He and the coach don’t see the reality because the two could earn a lot more money if they were different. They are both abnormal because we are talking about a lot of money in image rights.

“Furthermore, with that face, they have, with that defiant manner that they are disliked by everyone. … Advertising is the opposite, it is the complete opposite.”

At the time of publishing this report, none of the people Perez insulted in the leaked audios had publicly reacted to the insults. However, a statement from Real Madrid claimed that the enemies of the club leaked the audios because of the club’s interest in the failed European Super League.

Recall that Real Madrid, Juventus, and FC Barcelona are the only three clubs left in the struggle for the breakaway league.
