Serie A is known for competitive football, diehard and passionate fans, and top class players and teams with incredible records.

Here are five Serie A records that have been broken in recent years:

1. Most goals in a single season: Gonzalo Higuaín scored 36 goals for Napoli in the 2015/16 season, breaking the previous record of 35 goals set by Ciro Immobile in 2013/14.

2. Most consecutive wins: Juventus won 26 consecutive Serie A matches in the 2015/16 season, breaking the previous record of 25 wins set by Inter Milan in 2006/07.

3. Most consecutive titles: Juventus won nine consecutive Serie A titles from 2011/12 to 2019/20, breaking the previous record of five consecutive titles set by Torino from 1942/43 to 1946/47.

4. Most goals by an African player in a single season: Victor Osimhen scored 23 goals for Napoli in the 2022/23 season, breaking the previous record of 21 goals set by Samuel Eto’o in the 2010/11 season.

5. Most goals by an African player in Serie A history: Victor Osimhen has scored 47 goals in Serie A, breaking the previous record of 46 goals set by George Weah in the 1990s.

It is worth noting that some of these records were broken only very recently, and it is possible that some of them could be broken again in the future. However, these records are a testament to the quality of the players and teams that have graced Serie A in recent years.
