Here, we bring to you five LaLiga records that may never be broken:
- Most goals in a career: Lionel Messi (474 goals)
- Most goals in a season: Lionel Messi (50 goals in 2011-12)
- Most assists in a season: Lionel Messi (21 assists in 2011-12)
- Most consecutive league games without a loss: Real Sociedad (38 games in 1979-80)
- Most clean sheets in a season: Francisco Liaño (26 clean sheets in 1993-94)
These records are all held by some of the greatest players and teams in La Liga history, and they are unlikely to be broken anytime soon.
Messi’s goal record is particularly impressive, as he has scored over 40 goals in a season on eight occasions. He is also the all-time leading scorer in the Champions League and for Argentina.
Real Sociedad’s unbeaten run in 1979-80 is another incredible record. They went through the entire season without losing a single league game, and they won the title by 12 points.
Liaño’s clean sheet record in 1993-94 is also very impressive. He kept a clean sheet in over two-thirds of Deportivo’s league games, and he helped them to finish the season in third place.
