Five big signings of the January transfer window with a poor start and a disappointing effort have been selected in this content.

Different Premier League clubs signed players in the January transfer window, but they have failed to get off to a perfect start.

Most of these players are big cash signings and were expected to change the fate of their teams. These are the five players who have failed to perform up to expectations so far.

    Enzo Fernandez

    January transfer

Chelsea signed the 22-year-old former Benfica midfielder in the winter, making him the most expensive player in the club’s history. The Argentine joined Chelsea for a record fee of 121 million pounds.

Fernandez has played five matches for Chelsea and has failed to score a single goal. His only assist was for Joao Felix’s goal against West Ham in the Premier League.

Recently, he was criticized for not stopping Borussia Dortmund winger Karim Adeyemi from scoring against Chelsea in the Champions League.

    Cody Gakpo

The Liverpool attackers’ injury woes compelled the Reds to sign former PSV Winger Gakpo.

The winger had an impressive performance at PSV, where he scored 55 goals in 159 appearances.

He joined Liverpool for 42 million pounds, with Liverpool fans hoping he would be the next Sadio Mane, but he has fallen short of expectations.

The Dutch player had already played ten matches, scored two goals, and provided zero assists so far, but due to limited options in the Liverpool team, Jurgen Klopp had continued to use the winger in previous matches.

However, this is just his first season at the club and he is expected to click as time goes on.

    Anthony Gordon

    January transfer

The former Everton striker has failed to impress Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, and the manager had preferred to start Callum Wilson ahead of him.

After Everton’s poor performance, Gordon forced a move to the Saudi-owned side.
He played three matches, scoring zero goals and providing two assists.

    Joao Felix

    January transfer

The Portuguese attacker joined Chelsea on loan after failing to get enough playing time at Atletico Madrid.

Since joining the club, he has been the most talented attacker in the Chelsea team. In his debut against Fulham, he provided Chelsea with strength and technicality, but Chelsea lost their stands when he was red carded for a high foot attack.

After the straight red card, the player missed three matches.

After missing those matches, the player played four matches and scored just a goal with no assists.

The goal was Chelsea’s only goal in February and was regarded as Chelsea’s best goal in that month.

In addition, the player had an impressive performance against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, with most of his shots hitting the goal post. Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel had no chance against him, yet, he couldn’t score.

    Mykhaylo Mudryk

    January transfer

He was signed from Shakhtar Donetsk for a record fee of 100 million pounds. He has played six matches for the London side and has scored zero goals and no assists.

It has been disappointing for the Ukrainian winger, but he is trying hard to get a good performance and is hoping to repay the manager’s faith in the coming matches.
