Federico Valverde punched Villarreal’s Alex Baena after waiting for him at the car park following Real Madrid loss.
The Madrid midfielder was allegedly angry by the comment made by Baena about his wife’s pregnancy scare after both clubs played in January.
Alex Baena however took it to Twitter to deny the allegations levelled against him.
The issue between the duo was dragged by them into this weekend’s game with both of them clashing in the match.
Reports have it that Valverde confronted Baena at the car park outside Bernebau Stadium where the team buses parked.
Valverde, 24, allegedly punched Baena during the confrontation with Spanish sources claiming that Villarreal recorded the whole incident.
Marca also reported that Valverde punched Alex Baena in the face after the game.
Baena made a post on Twitter that Villarreal official account retweeted, he said: “Very happy with the team’s impressive victory in a venue like the Santiago Bernabéu, but at the same time very sad for the aggression I suffered after the game and surprised by what is being said about me.”
“IT IS COMPLETELY FALSE THAT I SAID THAT.”
Mina Bonino, the wife of Federico Valverde, was reported to have had complications when she was pregnant for their second child earlier in the year.
Fortunately, the unborn child made it and Bonino shared a picture on Instagram telling her followers she believes she was “six months into it.”
Villarreal dealt with Real Madrid thanks to the winning strike from Nigerian sensation Samuel Chukwueze.
Vinicius Junior made a solo run to score an awesome goal for Real Madrid to gift them early lead but it was not enough for the Los Blancos team.
Real Madrid are now 12 points behind league leaders and rivals Barcelona who still have one game in hand.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men can still win a trophy this season after they stunned Barcelona midweek to book a place in the Copa del Rey final.
They however have an immediate task of beating Frank Lampard’s Chelsea in the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals.
