FC Montreal have signed a dynamic, young, and talented midfielder Caden Clark from Major League Soccer club Minnesota United.
The 20-year-old fast-rising star from America is expected to light the Loons’ midfield with his creativity and technical skills, having penned down a multi-year contract deal with the club.
Now in his fourth MLS season, Clark has seven goals and eight assists in 70 matches. He burst onto the scene in 2020 with the New York Red Bulls and joined Minnesota for the 2024 campaign.
In between, Clark made a much-hailed move to German Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. He was loaned back to RBNY and later to Danish second-division side Vendsyssel FF before returning to the USA Championship.

He never quite delivered fully on all that promise, but during his time with New York Red Bulls, Clark did prove to be a long-range striker of some renown and a player capable of intelligent movement off the ball. His exposure to European football, in spite of the fact he didn’t get field time, really helped him have more polished skills.

FC Montreal has agreed a multi-year deal for Caden Clark in exchange for 46k Euros, and Minnesota could receive up to an additional $100,000 in conditional General Allocation Money if certain performance-based conditions are met. They will also retain a sell-on percentage if Clark is transferred out of MLS.
