PSG players were all in tears after the final whistle in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, after they lost the match thanks to a header from a former player Kingsley Coman.

Fans of Paris Saint-German were quick to point out a key event in the match when Bayern defender Joshua Kimmich looks to have brought down PSG striker Kylian Mbappe in the box, but the referee saw nothing wrong with the challenge.

Fans expected the VAR to call back the foul and award a penalty which would have brought the team level with the German club.
Italian referee Daniele Orsato was in charge of the match, and Massimiliano Irrato was in charge of the VAR team. The match had a total of 38 fouls from both sides as he issued eight yellow cards to both teams.

However, fans on social media felt he missed out on a very important event in the match for overlooking the challenge on Mbappe from Kimmich 15-minute to the end of the match. But whether it was a clear and obvious error from the man in charge remains an issue for debate.
Former Premier League referee Peter Walton said the decision could have easily been overturned.

Speaking to BT Sport “The more we look at it in slow motion, the more we can clearly see there was contact on Kylian Mbappe’s heel, and it could have been given as a penalty kick.”

Bayern also had a similar situation waved off when goalscorer Kinsley Coman was brought down by PSG defender Kehrer in the box which the VAR also choose not to intervene.

A fan tweeted “ So what’s the point of in having VAR if you’re not going to use it? PSG have been robbed; it’s a stone wall pen by Kimmich on Mbappe.”

While another fan protested “they missed the one in the first half on Bayern so not a robbery.

Well, guys look like things could have turned out a little different, so you think it should have been a Penalty?
