Consequent to his criticism against referee Lee Mason during the match against Burnley, Wolves manager, Nuno Espirito has been allegedly charged by the FA.

In a statement made by the FA, it said that Nuno has been penalized, having breach the FA Rule  E3.

“Wolves’ Nuno Espirito Santo has been charged with a breach of FA Rule E3 in relation to their Premier League match against Burnley FC on Monday 21 December 2020.” the statement read in parts

“It is alleged that comments made by the head coach during a post-match interview constitute improper conduct as they were personally offensive to the match official and/or bring the game into disrepute contrary to FA Rule E3.1.” It added

“Nuno Espirito Santo has until Tuesday 5 January 2021 to provide a response to the charge.”

The English football governing body has made it findings on couple of words he said about Mason’s incompetence, including his comment about, lacking ‘quality to whistle a game’ in the Premier League.

“Honestly I don’t like to say it, but I must say it because I will not feel right: the referee does not have the quality to whistle a game in the Premier League.” Nuno complained

“He does not control the players. The players are constantly arguing, both teams. With all the other referees, the game flows, the decisions are accepted, there is dialogue. He does not do it.” He added

“He does not control the players. The players are constantly arguing, both teams. With all the other referees, the game flows, the decisions are accepted, there is dialogue. He does not do it.”

Recall that Nuno’s men fell before Burnley. Goals from Ashley Barnes and Christopher Woods spurred Dean Syche to victory, such as that Fabio Silva late goal from the penalty spot could not help Wolves to be leveled.

Meanwhile, the FA gave the Portuguese gaffer until January the 5th next year to respond to the allegation.
