Everton Complete Signing Of Youssef Chermiti, Wolfsburg Reach Agreement To Sign Joakim Mæhle


Everton have completed the signing of Youssef Chermiti from Sporting Lisbon for a reported fee of £15 million.

Youssef Chermiti has signed a four-year deal with the Toffees, which will see him remain at Goodison Park until June 2027.

He made 22 appearances for Sporting Lisbon last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 2 assists across all competitions.

Confiming his arrival to the Merseyside club, Everton put out a statement on their official website which reads:

“Youssef Chermiti has signed for Everton from Sporting Clube de Portugal for an undisclosed fee, the striker agreeing a four-year contract until the end of June 2027.”

He becomes the 3rd arrival to Sean Dyche’s side this summer, joining Arnaut Danjuma and Ashley Young.

The 19-year-old goal poacher has got immense talents which could see him become one of the best in years to come.

Chermiti is delighted at signing for Everton

Youssef Chermiti also had his thoughts on joining Everton, expressing that it was a move that he “couldn’t turn down”.

In his first interview with the club, Chermiti said: “I couldn’t turn down this opportunity – it’s a big moment and I’m fully focused to get to work.”

Everton finished 17th in the Premier League last season, with their spot in the Premier League being guaranteed on the final day of the season.

Their top-scorer for 2022/23 scored a miniature 7 goals throughout the league season, a poor output for a Premier League club.

However, the responsibility of goals might not be placed on the young attacker’s shoulders but he might come into the Premier League and flourish.

Everton commence the 2023/24 season on Saturday, August 12, 2023 and they will begin by welcoming Fulham to their home turf.

Youssef Chermiti made his professional debut with Sporting in a 2-2 Primeira Liga encounter with Benfica on the 15th of January 2023.

Wolfsburg Reach Agreement To Sign Joakim Mæhle

Meanwhile, Wolfsburg have reportedly finalized the agreement to sign Joakim Mæhle from Atalanta for a fee within the region of €11 million – 12 million.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Denmark International is currently undergoing his medical in Germany.

Joakim Mæhle made 36 appearances for Atalanta last season, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists.

The defender joined Atalanta from Belgian side Genk on January 4, 2021 for a transfer fee of €13.7 million.

Mæhle helped the Bergamo based side to a 5th-place finish in the Serie A and he was impressive in defense for the club.

He will become the 6th signing for Wolfsburg this summer, having signed Vaclav Cerny, Moritz Jenz, Tiago Tomás, Rogério and Cédric Zesiger.

The 26-year-old has made 96 appearances in total for Atalanta, scoring 6 goals and providing 7 assists across all competitions.

The former Aalborg BK player has also made 37 appearances for Denmark, scoring 9 goals and providing 6 assists in all competitions.
