Europa League And Conference League Semi Finals: Everything You Need To Know

The European competitions are gradually coming to an end, with the Europa League and Conference League now in the semi-finals stage.

Below are the things you should know about the semi-finals of the two tournaments.

1. Juventus vs. Sevilla

After Sevilla defeated Manchester United 3-0 in Spain, they qualified for the semi-finals and will play against third-placed Juventus in Serie A, who qualified ahead of Sporting Lisbon.

The last time both teams met was on November 16, 2016, when Juventus came out on top with a 3-1 win.

Sevilla, being the favorite of the tournament, are capable of getting into the final again.

The first leg of the tournament comes up on May 11, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. in Allianz Arena, and the second leg comes up on May 18, 2023, in Sevilla’s Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

Europa League

The pre-sale price of the tickets will be around €146, and it starts on April 21, 2023, and will stop on April 23, 2023. However, in the future, there may be a probability of a change in price.

The match will be shown on BT Sport Europe (UK) and Supersport 4 for Nigerian viewers.

2. Bayern Leverkusen vs. AS Roma

It is a clash between a coach and his former player. Jose Mourinho and Xabi Alonso will face themselves for the first time since Mourinho left Real Madrid.

Since Alonso took over as the new manager of Bayern Leverkusen, they haven’t lost a single match.

Jose Mourinho, on the other hand, has his sights set on winning the Europa League with AS Roma after winning the Europa Conference League with the team last season.

Europa League

Both teams will meet on May 11, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. at the AS Roma Stadio Olimpico for the first leg.

The second leg comes up at the Bayern Leverkusen BayArena on May 18, 2023, around 8:00 p.m.

Tickets for the first leg and the second leg will be sold for around €249 for both home and away fans. The game will be shown on SuperSport 7 for Dstv users.

Europa Conference League Semifinals

1. West Ham vs. AZ Alkmaar

David Moyes has a chance to end West Ham’s woeful season as they move to the semi-finals of the European Conference League for the first time in their career.

Moyes’ men defeated Belgium’s Gent with an aggregate score of 5-2.

AZ Alkmaar came back from a 2-0 defeat against Anderlecht to move the ball to a penalty shootout, which the team won 4-1 to book a tie with West Ham.

The first leg comes up on May 11, 2023, at the London Stadium; however, the second leg will be played in the Netherlands at the AFAS Stadion on May 18, 2023, at 8:00 p.m.

The tickets will be announced on the club website and social media platforms very soon. However, you can watch the match on Supersport channels. While in the UK, it will be shown on BT Sports.

2. Fiorentina vs Basel

Fiorentina lost their second-leg encounter against Lech Poznan 3-2 but qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament on a 6-4 aggregate.

The Italian side will now face a Swiss side that has been excellent in the European tournament.

Basel, on the other hand, qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating OGC Nice by a score of 2-1.

Both teams will meet on May 11, 2023, for the first leg at Fiorentina Stadio Artemio Franchi. 

The second leg will be played in Switzerland, in Basel. Fiorentina are likely to qualify for the next round with their quality and style of play. It will be shown on the Supersport Channel and Skysport.
