    Pep Guardiola, the manager of Manchester City, did, however, provide an update on the striker which didn’t sound as scary as anticipated.

    Erling Haaland, the outstanding striker for Manchester City, was replaced with Bernardo Silva against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday due to an injury, and manager Pep Guardiola stated he is unsure if the Norwegian will miss this weekend’s game against Leicester.

    Before City’s midday trip to Leicester on Saturday, Guardiola confirmed Haaland will be evaluated on Wednesday. However, the prolific goal scorer may not be able to play.

    Guardiola gave three reasons for his decision to replace Haaland during the match saying: “I first saw how exhausted he looked.

    “Like Joao Cancelo, he experienced a slight fever during the second one. He received a blow to his foot on the third. He was unable to play in the second half due to this.”

    When questioned about the severity of Haaland’s foot injury, who has 22 goals in 14 appearances for City this season, Pep Guardiola said:

    “I don’t know right now, I spoke to them (the medical staff) at half-time and they were a little bit concerned. But I saw him walking OK at the end.”

    What next for Manchester City?

    Before the World Cup, Manchester City will focus on their final “three matches” in the Premier League campaign.

    The next game for Man City is against Leicester on Saturday.

    On Saturday at noon, Leicester will play host to the defending Premier League champions as Brendan Rodgers’ team attempts to build on consecutive victories over Leeds United and Wolves. The player, Haaland who has scored a league-high 17 goals for Man City, who are currently second in the standings, might not be available.

    How the injury to Erling Haaland might affect Manchester City;

    Manchester City seemed to suffer without its goal machine, Erling Haaland, as was seen during their match against the German team in the UEFA Champions League on October 25, 2022.

    Hence, Erling Haaland’s injury may make it difficult for Manchester City to play their opponents without concern.

    The star striker from Norway is expected to return to action for the citizens in a week, so the injury doesn’t appear to be catastrophic in the long run.

    Based on how he often bounces back from fitness issues, one game barely affects Haaland’s stellar form.

    In just 15 appearances across all competitions, he has 22 goals and three assists so far this season.
