Erling Haaland just signed for Manchester City this summer but it has taken him less than three Premier League matches to show former teammate Sancho how to adapt to a new league.

Jadon Sancho is a spectacular, elusive winger for Manchester United, but his goal-scoring prowess hasn’t kept up with the dancing samba style of Brazil’s finest strikers or the gritty street football of south London.

With his fantastic record for Dortmund—50 goals and 64 assists in 137 games—it was no surprise that United wanted to sign him. While Sancho was playing for England in Euro 2020, a fee agreement was revealed on July 1, 2021, and the deal was formally finalized three weeks later.

Jadon Sancho

Jadon Malik Sancho, an English professional football player for Manchester United of the Premier League and the England squad, was born on March 25, 2000. He plays as a winger.

He is well known for his cunning, game intelligence, pace, and use of feints in one-on-one scenarios. He is widely regarded as one of the best young players in the world.

Sancho was expected to sign a contract and pass a medical examination after UEFA Euro 2020, it was revealed on July 1, 2021, that Manchester United and Dortmund had struck an agreement for his transfer.

After Sancho agreed to a five-year deal with an additional year’s option and signed the contract, the transfer was finalized on July 23.

Odion Ighalo’s former number 25 shirt was given to him. He debuted on August 14, 2021, in a 5-1 home league victory over Leeds United in place of Daniel James.

He scored his first goal for the team on November 23, 2021, against Villarreal to guarantee a place in the Champions League knockout round.

Five days later, against Chelsea, he scored his first Premier League goal as a result of Jorginho’s errant handling of Bruno Fernandes’ long clearance, which gave Sancho a two-on-one with Édouard Mendy.

Erling Haaland

Erling Braut Haaland, who just moved from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City in a high-profile move, will be one of the most interesting players to watch in the 2022–23 football season.

The Norwegian striker played for Dortmund for two and a half productive seasons in the Bundesliga before finalizing his move to the Premier League.

Almost all of Europe’s top teams were associated with signing Haaland at various points during that time, and he was the subject of transfer rumors.

On July 30, 2022, he made his official debut in the Community Shield matchup against championship rival Liverpool. Haaland, who had the goal at his mercy, missed a sitter, blazing over the bar, and City lost 3-1. This made for a somewhat forgettable start.

But on August 7 at West Ham in London, Haaland had the Premier League debut of his dreams. In a 2-0 victory for City, he scored twice.

It turned out that his home debut versus Bournemouth was more challenging. Although City easily defeated their opponents by a score of 4-0, Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden provided the team’s spark rather than Haaland, who was guarded by three center-backs for the majority of the game. With 16 seconds left, Julian Alvarez took his spot.

When City traveled to play Newcastle the next week, Haaland made an effort to address his detractors. He nipped in at the near post to deliver a thunderous left-footed volley into the net for his team’s second goal in the thrilling 3-3 tie.
